Our Beliefs (The following is a brief summary. A full doctrinal statement is available upon request)
• The Holy Scriptures are the complete and final revelation of God to man. The Holy Spirit guided the human writers so the result is the very word of God without error.
• There is one true God, the creator of all things, who exists in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who are each eternal, identical in nature and equal.
• The creation of all things was by the direct act of God.
• Humanity was created in the image of God but by disobedience to God’s command fell and was separated from God.
This fallen nature was transmitted to all of Adam’s descendants so they are sinful both in nature and practice.
• Salvation is a free gift of God based on the finished work of Jesus Christ which is received by repentance and faith apart from works. Salvation reconciles man to God and results in eternal life.
• The church is an assembly of those who have received God’s salvation. It refers both to those who meet in a particular locality for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth
and to all true believers of all places and times who have been united with Christ as one body.
• The Lord delivered two ordinances to the church: baptism of believers by immersion in water and the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of the Lord’s death on behalf of His redeemed people.
• God gives spiritual gifts to believers according to His own will, however some of the gifts were given as signs to authenticate the gospel message and ceased at the end of the Apostolic period.
• Christians are to be holy and Christ-like in their attitudes, words and actions. This involves separation from what is sinful and exhibiting biblical virtues which give evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit.
• The return of Jesus Christ is the blessed hope of the believer. First He will come to catch away the church before the great tribulation of God’s wrath,
then afterward to return in glory to reign upon earth for a thousand years.
